Huquqyat members and legal investigators Mariana Karkoutly and Leila Sibai were on the “Syria Trials” podcast to talk about justice and bearing witness. They discussed survivor-centred methodologies during investigations of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Syria.

The retelling of experiences, which more often than not were traumatic, can lead to physical and emotional exhaustion, and the possibility of becoming retraumatised is forever looming.
