Huquqyat member Insaf Haddad participated in a conference on approaches to transitional justice in Syria, held in Paris on 30 October 2025, organized by the Paris Bar Association in partnership with the Middle East and North Africa Program at Sciences Po Paris and the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in Paris.
Insaf Haddad’s intervention focused on the importance of integrating a gender perspective into transitional justice processes in Syria, including addressing gender-based violence and ensuring women’s participation in mechanisms of truth, reparations, and institutional reform. She also stressed the fundamental role of Syrian civil society, inside Syria and in the diaspora, in supporting reconstruction and inclusive governance, and the necessity that transitional justice form the basis of a new social contract based on equal citizenship and recognition of the plurality of Syrian society.
