Application to join Huquqyat’s Network
Huquqyat is an organisation that works through a feminist legal network approach. Through Huquqyat’s Network, we create a safe space for women legal practitioners to connect, collaborate, exchange knowledge, and strengthen their leadership across our research, advocacy, investigations, legal support, and training work.
Network Membership applications
Please note that we are not accepting new network membership applications for 2026. Applications will reopen starting in 2027. You are welcome to review the network membership criteria and application requirements below in advance.
Who can apply
When applications reopen, we will consider applications from aspiring network members who meet all of the following criteria: 1- You are a woman or identify as a woman. 2- You work on, or are interested in working on, the Syrian context from a legal perspective. 3- You have a legal background, such as a lawyer, legal practitioner, or law student. 4- You have an interest in, or experience with, legal investigations of war crimes and crimes against humanity, legal research, advocacy, or justice and accountability work related to Syria. 5- You speak Arabic or understand Arabic.
What you will gain from joining Huquqyat
As part of the Huquqyat Network, you will become part of a supportive community of women legal practitioners and researchers working across justice and accountability efforts related to Syria and the SWANA region. Network members may benefit from: 1- A network of women lawyers and legal practitioners 2- Mentorship and tailored support 3- Opportunities to apply for projects under the umbrella of Huquqyat 4- Access to technical trainings 5- Priority access to selected job opportunities shared by Huquqyat 6- A safe, flexible, and respectful environment
What we ask from Network members
We recognise that those who join the Huquqyat Network do so on a voluntary basis, and we deeply value the time, care, and expertise each participant brings. We ask network participants to stay informed about Huquqyat’s work through regular communications, attend network meetings where possible, and contribute to thematic groups, activities, or collaborative opportunities in line with their interests and availability. Network members are expected to: 1- Stay informed about Huquqyat’s work through regular communications 2- Attend monthly Network meetings 3- Contribute, where possible, to one of Huquqyat’s thematic committees 4- Support the growth and development of the organisation
Network members commitments
By submitting an application, applicants confirm that, if selected, they will: 1- Read and endorse Huquqyat’s values, aims, mission, and policies 2- Sign and follow Huquqyat’s Network membership agreement, constitution, and relevant policies within 15 days of acceptance 3- Attend an onboarding meeting and, if requested, a virtual interview 4- Attend monthly Network meetings
