Huquqyat member and co-founder Leila Sibai participated in an event on feminist memory hosted by the Asfari Institute at the American University of Beirut, between 10 and 12 September 2025.
Leila Sibai’s intervention addressed feminist memory, transitional justice, gender, and enforced disappearance in the Syrian context, highlighting the importance of integrating the experiences of women, survivors, and families of the forcibly disappeared into truth-seeking and accountability processes. The event also provided a space for networking with researchers and actors interested in gender-based violence, justice, documentation, and memory in the region.
