Huquqyat held its first annual meeting in Berlin, Germany, during the period between 26 and 29 October 2023. This three-day conference was an occasion for most members to meet physically for the first time in an event dedicated to the organization, while emphasizing that all arrangements were made to enable Huquqyat members located in northern Syria, who were unable to attend in Berlin, to participate remotely.
The purpose of the conference was to organize sessions on topics important to the organization’s members, such as investigations into core international crimes, documentation, and advocacy, while focusing on dedicating sufficient time to enable personal communication among members, as well as exchanging knowledge, information, and experiences between them, and reaching ideas for new projects that could be implemented through Huquqyat. Due to Huquqyat’s awareness of the scarcity of opportunities available to women lawyers and workers in the legal field to meet and participate in trainings specifically designed to meet their needs, the organization will always seek to fill this gap through continuous efforts to secure such trainings for its members with the aim of strengthening their capacities and expanding the scope of their participation and representation in the various fields that concern the organization and are connected to its work.
