Huquqyat member Linda Osman participated in the Syria Working Group meeting organized by the Euro-Mediterranean Rights Network in Athens, Greece, on 9 and 10 December 2025, where she delivered an intervention on women’s rights, legal reform, and transitional justice in the Syrian context.

Linda Osman’s intervention focused on the necessity of transforming general commitments to gender equality and the protection of women into enforceable legal reforms, including constitutional guarantees, personal status and nationality laws, criminal law, and the criminalization of gender-based violence. She also stressed the importance of integrating sexual and gender-based crimes into transitional justice processes from their beginning, ensuring the protection of survivors and witnesses, and strengthening the role of feminist civil society as an essential part of the structure supporting justice and accountability.
